Information We Collect
We don't collect data about your collection. Everything you add to Alwayssound — your tracks, albums, playlists, links, tags, and listening activity — is stored in a database on your own device. We have no server that receives, stores, or syncs that data, and we cannot see it.
Optional iCloud sync. Alwayssound can optionally sync your collection across your own Apple devices using Apple CloudKit. When you enable this, your data is stored in your private iCloud account — Apple's infrastructure, tied to your Apple ID — so it stays available on your other devices. This data goes to your personal iCloud, never to us: we have no access to it, and it is governed by Apple's privacy policy. iCloud sync is off unless you turn it on, and you can disable it at any time in Settings.
If you uninstall the app, the local copy of your data is removed along with it. Data you synced to iCloud remains in your iCloud account until you delete it there (see below).
Connecting Third-Party Music Services
Alwayssound lets you connect your accounts and content from services such as Spotify and Apple Music. When you connect one of these:
- Authentication is handled directly between your device and that service. Access tokens are stored locally on your device so the app can act on your behalf — they are not transmitted to us.
- Content you play from these services is played through that service's own player or SDK, subject to their terms and privacy policies.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any service you connect:
- Apple Musicapple.com/legal/privacy
- Bandcampbandcamp.com/privacy
- Mixcloudmixcloud.com/privacy
- SoundCloudsoundcloud.com/pages/privacy
- Spotifyspotify.com/legal/privacy-policy
Anonymous Usage Analytics
To understand which features people actually use, Alwayssound can send anonymous usage analytics through Aptabase (aptabase.com), a privacy-first analytics platform.
This only runs if you turn it on in Settings. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
When enabled:
- We send anonymous, aggregate event counts — for example, "a playlist was imported" — never the contents of your collection, your links, your libraries, or anything that identifies you.
- Aptabase is designed to avoid persistent identifiers and does not build a profile of you.
Anonymous Crash Reporting
To help us find and fix bugs, Alwayssound can send anonymous crash and error reports through Sentry (sentry.io).
This only runs in the released app if you turn it on. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy; your choice takes effect the next time you launch the app.
When enabled:
- Reports contain the error and where it occurred in the app's code — nothing more.
- We do not send your music library, listening history, or account details.
Payment and Licensing
If you purchase a license for Alwayssound, payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), which acts as the merchant of record. Your payment details (card numbers, billing information) are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy and are never sent to or stored by us. We receive only what's needed to validate your license. Lemon Squeezy's handling of your payment data is governed by their privacy policy.
Accessing, Changing, or Deleting Your Data
Because your collection lives on your own device, you are always in control of it:
- To delete it, remove it within the app or uninstall Alwayssound.
- To disconnect a music service, use the disconnect option in Settings, which removes the locally stored data for that service.
- If you enabled iCloud sync, you can stop syncing in Settings, and you can delete the synced data directly from your iCloud account through Apple's tools (or by removing the app's data under your iCloud storage settings).
If you have questions or a request regarding any data described above, contact us at the address below.
Children's Privacy
Alwayssound is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Your Consent
By using Alwayssound, you consent to this privacy policy.
